The Role

Built for sport, Cortex is a platform that connects data, content and commercial inventory, elevating the fan experience and generating new multi-channel revenue opportunities for rightsholders.

We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Content Marketing & Activation Manager to support our own brand positioning in industry, and our channel partners, with sales & marketing materials.

The first dedicated marketing role at the company, you’ll be exposed to the top end strategy whilst ‘doing the doing’ in implementing content marketing, sales enablement and partner enablement.

Cortex is a new brand with an exciting future, but built upon a 9 year legacy of working with major global sports rights holders. This is a great opportunity for an emerging and ambitious person to take this strong foundation and drive growth of a brand with a new vision, and in turn supercharge their career in the sports, media and technology industry.

Key Responsibilities (estimated % of time spent on task)

Brand Strategy (10%)
  • Support the Managing Director and VP, Sales in refining and critiquing the brand strategy (in creation at present) no less frequently than on a quarterly basis to ensure Cortex continues to deliver, or over-deliver, against brand goals in market
  • Create and present KPI-led, metric-driven reports on brand performance against the strategy to the Cortex Senior Management Team (SMT) monthly
  • Own the brand guidelines for Cortex, suggesting updates and refinements in alignment with business goals
Brand Delivery (20%)
  • Own and enact the delivery plan for the Cortex brand across all channels including ideation > creation > activation
  • Create engaging thought leadership content which aligns to the brand strategy at macro level
  • Create value-led content that demonstrates the business benefits and commercial returns of engaging with Cortex
  • Support the business in delivering engaging and relevant content to support industry activations such as event attendance
Sales Team Support (30%)
  • Leverage the brand works above to generate inbound pipeline enquires that the sales team can capitalise on
  • Conceptualise, design and create materials in conjunction with, and in response to, the sales team that best-position them to convert deals within their respectively pipelines
  • Leverage ABM (Account-Based Marketing) to create tailored campaigns for specific high-value prospect accounts
  • In conjunction with the sales team, create micro level campaigns that target specific target audiences at product, country or value levels
Partnership Enablement (30%)
  • Create compelling yet simple content packs that enable our channel partners to engage with, communicate about and go-to-market with Cortex offerings
  • Create marketing materials, for or in conjunction with a partner, that showcase our mutual success in market using metric-driven, outcome-led case studies
  • Work with Business Partners to execute joint campaigns that create joint Sales Pipeline
Market Analysis & Insights (10%)
  • Understand our competitive landscape and associated competitive companies’ marketing materials to understand how and where we can cut through
  • Provide feedback on trends relating to use of language, frequency of communications and ways of delivering from competitor marketing analysis to both aid our sales team’s understanding of the market and to refine and improve our own communications

Candidate Requirements

Experience
  • An understanding of content marketing and its application to achieving business goals
  • Such application in a SaaS business would be desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in high-quality output delivery across brand positioning, sales enablement and partner enablement
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Skills & Experience
  • An ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • An ability to prioritise on an impact v urgency basis, moving dynamically between projects and workloads with ease
  • A comprehensive understanding of digital marketing practices, including SEO, email marketing, social media, and paid advertising
  • Strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to write engaging and persuasive copy
  • The ability to analyse data to measure success and inform future strategy
  • The ability to develop new and innovative ideas for marketing campaigns
  • The ability to recognise and predict audience inclinations
