A new, quick-to-deploy SaaS product platform that taps into the vast revenue opportunities still left on the table for sports organisations and their brand partners.
The Cortex story began in 2015 when CEO Aidan met CTO Ciaran in the innovation laboratories of a university campus outside the youthful, tech-savvy city of Brighton, United Kingdom. Together with the start-up development team, they began to build a solution to a market problem, building technology to create more connected digital ecosystems.
After 9 years developing the product suite in direct partnership with customers, Cortex was launched in 2024 to better serve the digitally diverse sports industry as a quick-to-deploy SaaS platform for data and revenue driven sports marketing.
Sports marketing revenue is traditionally divided across media rights, direct fan income (attendance, merchandising) and media sales and commercial partnerships. In recent years there has been a significant shift in fan attention, and subsequently brand spend, over to digital platforms, however sponsorship is still largely maintained on more traditional channels.
In addition, the ability to optimise sports marketing across digital channels is blocked by disconnected and inefficient technology, disparate data sources and outdated marketing platforms. Traditional, and less effective methods are maintained, time and resources exhausted and significant value is left on the table. New opportunities are vast, yet unrealised.
Cortex customers are using fully connected technologies to create seamless user journeys, optimise digital fan experiences and unlock new commercial opportunities enabling revenue to flow and their businesses to thrive.
Cortex's leadership team has been part of game changing businesses such as Opta, WPP and InCrowd, the latter of which has led digital transformation projects for sports leagues, teams and federations, working to connect fan journeys and increase revenue.
Working closely with leading rights holders, sports marketing agencies, management consultancies and systems integrators, the Cortex engineering team has observed, supported and learnt from these organisations to develop the suite of Cortex products available today.
With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced and objectives set by sports organisations, Cortex is committed to developing products that will always be:
