The Role

Built for sport, Cortex is a platform that connects data, content and commercial inventory, elevating the fan experience and generating new multi-channel revenue opportunities for rightsholders.

We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Account Executive to lead our mid-market account sales delivery, working closely with our Product, Operations and Customer Success teams.

The Account Executive will play a crucial role in executing the company's direct sales strategy.

Cortex is a new brand with an exciting future, but built upon a 9 year legacy of working with major global sports rights holders. This is a great opportunity for an emerging and ambitious person to take this strong foundation and drive growth of a brand with a new vision, and in turn supercharge their career in the sports, media and technology industry.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Revenue Growth

  • Own and drive ARR growth, ensuring achievement of ambitious revenue targets
  • Identify and pursue high-value enterprise deals, domestically and internationally
  • Develop and nurture strategic partnerships that enhance Cortex’s market presence and create long-term revenue streams
  • Bring proven ability to adapt sales approaches for different customer segments

Operational Excellence

  • Work to defined sales processes, tools, and performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and scalability
  • Be happy to work with the key metrics and financial drivers of a SaaS business and work closely with the Managing Director & Finance Director to set and monitor sales budgets, forecasts, and manage performance across key metrics (CAC, ARR, LTV, Churn Rate etc).
  • Ensure the adoption and effective use of CRM systems and sales analytics tools.

Customer and Market Insights

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key decision-makers across sports organisations, leagues, and agencies.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent Cortex at global industry events and conferences, serving as a brand ambassador.

Mid-Market Negotiation & Deal Closure

  • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations and close high-value, long-term mid-market deals
  • Experience in leading negotiations, especially in complex sectors like sports
  • Ability to position value and build relationships with senior decision-makers at sports organisations, understanding their pain points and need

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience
    • 2-3 years of experience in direct SaaS sales or channel management, with a proven track record of growing direct sales channels at enterprise level
    • A deep understanding of the sales process, ideally within a niche industry to demonstrate an ability to apply sales techniques to achieve specific sales outcomes
    • Demonstrable experience in growing revenue through direct sales, ideally in a SaaS environment
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

    • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen to execute against high-growth sales targets
    • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
    • Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills to track direct sales performance and make data-driven decisions
    • An ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • An ability to prioritise on an impact v urgency basis, moving dynamically between projects and workloads with ease

  • Overall direct revenue growth and achievement of revenue targets at mid-market level
  • Return on Investment (ROI) of direct marketing spend that relates to direct sales enablement
